Recycling Unwanted Items

Recycling options depend on what an item is made of and whether a destination accepts it. Start with a clear list rather than treating every unwanted item the same.

01

Identify the material and condition

A metal frame, upholstered couch and refrigerator need different conversations. Send clear photos and identify missing parts or damage. Avoid dismantling an item just to separate materials before discussing the plan.

02

Check acceptance before making a trip

If you plan to take items to a facility yourself, confirm its current acceptance and drop-off requirements directly. General recycling advice is not a guarantee that a particular facility will take your load.

03

Discuss hauling options

If you need help carrying and transporting the items, contact DrouCo with the full list and address. Ask about the handling options for that job. Recycling or donation of every item is not guaranteed.

One more thing to know

Is recycling the same as reuse?

Reuse keeps an item in use as an item. Recycling processes its materials. A usable item may be worth offering for reuse before you decide on removal.
